Live Action Disappointments

With the upcoming release of Ghost in The Shell live action, we have the opportunity to talk about how Live action movies don’t really work for movies. We’ve all seen flops like Dragon Ball Evolution and even the Attack on Titan movie. Shit doesn’t go well in real life as it does in anime. The main reason that live actions don’t really work is that anime causes you to have the suspension of belief. Anime is drawn so you create whatever you want. Like magical attacks, imaginative worlds and boob physics. Obviously, these things can’t be translated to the...

The Latest: Magi

Aren’t we getting to great and meta for this shit. Magi is really stepping it’s game when it comes to magical powers and set up for its last arc. Because goddamn. Sinbad and Aladdin’s powers are really becoming too overpowered. Starting from the last few chapters when Sinbad … just wait for it. Well before you get spoiled let me warn you that I’m going to be discussing the latest chapters of Magi. You have been warned. So Sinbad is basically god now right. Pros and Cons to Long Anime

Compared to short anime series, there’s not as many long anime series. But some of the most well-known anime tend to have several seasons. So what are the pros and cons to long anime series? Firstly, I’ve found that the stories are well-paced. They’re not rushed or dragged out. Mainly due to the fact that there isn’t an episode limit. Once an anime is popular, it’s likely to stay popular so anime studios don’t have to try to cram a story arc into the one season, they’re free to pace it nicely. However, a con to this is that...

Why Fruits Basket Should Be Remade

Fruits Basket is one of my favourite anime and manga series. As much as I love the anime series, it’s not as good as the source material mainly due to important things being left out or changed completely. A second season is pretty much impossible. The hat was left out, which is so important to the story and plays a huge role. Akito is ill and is going to die from it, whereas in the manga he’s perfectly fine (though does become ill every now and then). Not to mention *spoiler alert* Akito is in fact female in the...

Ordinal Scale

Hey, look a new addition to the SAO world. Let’s just hope this movie isn’t a disappointment like most of the SAO series.  Looks like an interesting premise, with what I’ve seen the trailers and such. I only hope it doesn’t screw up what enjoyment I have left for this franchise. Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale comes out in the U.S on March 9th. 2017, featuring an original story written by Reki Kawahara himself, the original creator of Sword Art Online. The premise relates to the events after season two using a new type of virtual gaming involving augmented...
