I recently bought Destiny and all of its DLC, I haven’t played it enough to have completed the storyline, but I’ve played it enough to review my initial thoughts of the game.

The first thing I really have to complain about is the updates. Not only are they late, but they don’t give you any warning as to when they’ll be released and when you’ll be kicked out of the game. I was in the middle of a mission and I was kicked out due to needing the new update, and I wasn’t warned of this at all except for when I started a game, but by this point three hours had passed since receiving said warning. There wasn’t even a five minute warning that I was going to be kicked out of the game. I was thrown to a black screen with the message stating that I need to update Destiny and that I can continue playing the game, which really pissed me off. The update took longer than necessary (just over an hour), so I couldn’t play the game.

They really should have an update day where the update rolls out to everyone, and gives them enough time to download it and install it, and after that day the update is needed to play the game. This way, you can continue playing the game while the update downloads. It would be so much more convenient.

On a brighter note, the game is very fun but is definitely better when played with friends, it’s good that it’s possible to go through the story with friends to help, which isn’t possible with some online games. I love the emotes that can be done, like pointing, siting and dancing as it adds a comedic effect to the game, which is mostly serious.

Destiny isn’t the easiest to understand and it’s taken me a while to figure everything out, especially how to improve my light level as well as what everything does. It’s definitely the most complicated online game I’ve played, as others have been a lot simpler to play and understand.

Maybe I missed an important tutorial or something that explained this, but I highly doubt that. It also took me a while to figure out how to get more missions, and my boyfriend had to tell me who to talk to. I’m just used to games like TES that are really simple and easy to play.

The missions are also very challenging, which I like because it’s difficult for me to get bored of it. I hate games that are easy to get through, so having a challenge is nice. It’s not too challenging either, so the game seems possible to complete rather and I wouldn’t be spending hours on the same mission.
