After 15 years and 500 episodes, Naruto Shippuden is over.

This isn’t a surprise, since the manga did end not too long ago. However, I did think that the anime would have ended a few months ago after the final fight, since that’s where it ended in the manga. But nope, the studio decided to drag it out by adding all the light novels, the Last movie and Naruto and Hinata’s wedding (which lasts about 5 episodes, I’m not sure).

However, this isn’t the end of Naruto. Boruto is out on April 5th, so we’ll still be seeing Naruto for several more years (unless Boruto isn’t successful at all).

Several fans are upset that it is over and some are relieved. I’m personally relieved since they were dragging it out. I haven’t seen the last episode so I can’t comment on whether it’s good or not.

In my personal opinion, Naruto started to go downhill during the war arc. There was more filler being released compared to canon, which was stupid since at this point the manga had ended, and the canon episodes were full of flashbacks that had already been shown in previous episodes. It started to drag, and I started to get fed up and bored. I don’t like skipping episodes all the time since I like to relax and just watch instead of trying to think how many episodes left until filler. I also didn’t like the repetitiveness of the episodes and it felt like the story wasn’t going anywhere. There was little to no action in episodes due to flashbacks and a lot of talking. This ruined Naruto for me, since before this point I loved the series.

I’m not sure whether I’ll be watching Boruto, but chances are I’ll give the first episode a go. I haven’t seen the film or read the manga so I have no idea what will be happening. I’m expecting the worst, so I won’t be disappointed if it’s awful.
