I was given the box set for Steins;Gate as an early Christmas present, so I decided to re-watch it (even though I only finished watching it a few months ago). Since this is a list of reasons to re-watch it, if you haven’t seen Steins;Gate already then I recommend you watch it before reading this, as it’s going to be full of spoilers. You’ve been warned.

I do understand that not everyone would have enjoyed Steins;Gate so they wouldn’t want to watch it again. However, if you did enjoy it then I highly recommend re-watching it for the reasons listed below.

So first of all, I viewed the first episode in an entirely different light compared to when I first watched it. Instead of being clueless to what was happening, I knew everything. I knew that Kurisu wasn’t actually dead, and that the scream came from no other than Okabe himself. I hadn’t expected to hear Okabe scream (future Okabe, not present Okabe). I can’t even remember if I knew it was Okabe’s scream when I first watched it. It was pretty interesting, and that’s when I realised that I wouldn’t have to sit there thoroughly confused like I did the first time around.

Which leads me to my second point, there’s none of that confusion which almost makes the series boring and tiring to get through. I understood everything that was going on, so I wouldn’t feel confused. It’s relaxing to watch when I’m not trying to figure everything out.

I already liked the characters, so I was able to enjoy it even more than I did the first time. I didn’t have to watch them go about their day without any attachment to them.

Most important of all, I get to listen to all the funny jokes again. Especially when Okabe keeps saying ‘but he’s a guy’ about Luka. I doubt that will ever get old and it will probably remain as one of my favourite moments from the anime.
