Resident Evil 7 is the latest addition to the Resident Evil series. I haven’t played a Resident Evil game all the way through before, and the one I did play was several years ago.

This game was really good; I didn’t technically play it but I watched my boyfriend play it. I spent a lot of time nagging him to complete it because I enjoyed it so much. There wasn’t much of a storyline, but whatever story was there was interesting enough to make me want to see more.

It wasn’t too scary either. At times I was hiding behind a cushion, but most of the time I was able to watch it. It did make me jump, but that’s what made it enjoyable. Yes it was terrifying, but I didn’t find myself being so scared that I didn’t want to watch any more.

The atmosphere for the game was right, it somehow made me feel on edge waiting for something to pop out. This game was so terrifying, but it wasn’t so scary that it was horrible to play. Everything about the game worked well together.

The puzzles weren’t too difficult either, they weren’t super easy and they were challenging enough to be fun.

The sound in the game is amazing. As the game progresses, sound becomes more and more useful/terrifying. The visuals are very nice too, and both of these work so well together to create a really intense atmosphere.

The controls are very simple as well, and easy to remember. As well as the game mechanics were very good. It’s not difficult to get used to or learn, which is something that I definitely like. I hate games where the controls are difficult to remember, it makes the game unnecessarily difficult.

This game also becomes more challenging as you progress, but it never gets too challenging that it’s impossible to beat. It’s challenging enough to be enjoyable.

The VR support for the game is amazing. I only got to play a small amount of the game with VR, but I enjoyed every bit of it. It made the game even more terrifying, as I felt like I was in the game, rather than experiencing it on a TV screen. The monsters became even more terrifying as they crept towards me. If you’re playing the whole game through VR, it may be a little bit too terrifying.

A negative though, is that the quality of the game goes down when VR is used.

If you’re a Resident Evil fan (or not), I really recommend this game. It’s fun, and there isn’t much to hate about it.
