Orange is one of my favourite manga that I’ve read. I’m not really a person for tragic stories, but I really enjoyed this one. I was upset when the manga came to an end, and then there was an announcement for the anime. I haven’t been excited for an upcoming anime since the third season of Black Butler.

So far seven episodes have been released for Orange, but I’ve only seen six (I’ve been busy!). So I’m going to review the episodes that have been released so far.  Obviously there will be spoilers – just for the first six episodes, I’m not going to mention what happens later on in the manga.

Naho still annoys me, there are times when I want to scream at her for being so shy or for not listening to the letter from her future self.

I also really hate Senpai (I don’t even know what her name is), she’s nasty so I don’t see why so many people like her. She’s so much of a b*tch that she tried to distract Naho so she’d miss meeting up with Kakeru. Who would honestly do that if they were a nice person? If I was friends with her and witnessed her do that, I’d definitely not want to talk to her again.

Kakeru is my favourite character in the series. He just seems so friendly and approachable. Plus, he has one of the best smiles I’ve seen on an anime character.

I can’t help but feel sorry for Suwa though. He’s so kind and he’d do anything for Naho. He’s willing to let Kakeru have Naho, rather than pursue her himself.

So far, the anime is following the manga and I don’t think there are any changes (though it has been over a year since I read the manga). It’s going at a nice pace and isn’t too drawn out. It’s also pretty much shoujo-cliché-free. I’m really excited to see how the rest of the anime is going to turn out, and I really hope they don’t mess anything up.

I love the animation itself. It’s very pleasing to look at, and it looks very similar to the manga.

I also love the opening; it brightens up the anime. It fits because it isn’t too sad but it isn’t too happy either.

The anime hasn’t made me cry as much as the manga did, but then I’m expecting everything that happens. I know someone who has cried quite a bit watching it and they haven’t read the manga, so I’m assuming that it’s just as sad as the manga.

Overall, I’m really enjoying the anime so far. What do you think? Leave a comment below!
