There are quite a few anime mascots. They represent different anime, and very recognisable and are iconic within the anime community. I decided to put together a top 5 list of anime mascots, taking in to consideration how popular they are as well as how liked they are.

1 Pikachu

Pikachu is obviously going to be on this list. Everyone knows Pikachu. My parents know what Pikachu is. So, I thought I’d get it out of the way. I definitely love Pikachu, and I liked him even when I hated Pokémon. However, it’s well-known that people view him as overrated, which is understandable. Pikachu isn’t the best Pokémon in the series. You can’t deny how well-known he is though, which is why he deserves a spot on this list.

2 Kyubey

I hate Kyubey, but I knew what he looked like even before I knew what Puella Magi Madoka Magica was. I see him everywhere. He’s unavoidable.

3 Totoro

Totoro is part of the Studio Ghibli logo. It’s difficult to be an anime fan and not know who Totoro is, or not recognise him. Even non-anime fans know who he is, even if they can’t name him.

4 Tony Tony Chopper

He’s in One Piece, so it’s no surprise that he’s recognisable. I knew who he was shortly after being dragged into the anime community by my friend. He’s not the most well-known anime mascot, but he is in One Piece, which is very popular.

Honourable Mentions:

There’s a lot of anime mascots to choose from, so I decided to add a few here that are definitely mascots and are popular, but not as popular as those that made it onto this list. They deserve recognition though.

Kon – Bleach

Monokuma – Danganronpa

Sadaharu – Gintama

Sakamoto-san – Nichijou

5 Luna

Luna is from Sailor Moon, an anime most fans grew up with. I’m sure people who aren’t anime fans know who she is, especially since Sailor Moon was very popular.

So, that concludes this list! Are there any mascots I forgot about and didn’t mention? Leave a comment below!
